All us mommies need little things to make this crazy journey a little but easier. Over the last few days I’ve been thinking what things have I used most since A’s arrival and here’s what made my short list…

Baby Connect…

I dont even know where to start, I depend on this app so much! You can record feeds, sleep, diaper changes, doctors visits, and so many other things! If you have more than one child you can make a profile for each. Just get it. trust me you wont regret it!

Henry…

Ok so this might just be me and my slight cleaning addiction but seriously Henry the Hoover is the best birthday present I ever got (yes, I did ask for a vacuum cleaner for my birthday). Clayton was a little wierded out that our Hoover had a face.. Or at least that’s why he said he didn’t want to do the vacuuming? Haha.. It comes with an economy mode I think it called which has great suction but majorly reduced noise compared to others I’ve used. Henry will definitely be a staple in my life.

CIF wipes…

Again linked to my cleaning perhaps but I think every house needs some anti bacterial wipes especially if there’s a baby or toddler living there. CIF wipes have a honeycomb effect on the actual wipe making it more abrasive for tougher or dried on stains. I am addicted, and they smell so lemony fresh too.

Boots tea tree & witch hazel range…

Finally away from the cleaning supplies! Ok so I’ve suffered with bad skin my entire teenage life and it only got progressively worse when I got pregnant with A. I developed cystic acne during my pregnancy which on top of the early bump stage (own clothes are too tight, maternity are too big) made me too self conscience to leave the house.  I went into Boots to find a foaming cleanser to go with my clarisonic and just happened upon this brand. Since A’s been born my clarisonic hasn’t been seen (bold Ellen!) however I have managed to continue using the cleanser and moisturisers from the boots range and I can’t believe the difference in my skin. I do have some scarring that I’m hoping will fade in time but I have had no breakouts or cystic acne since starting it. I’ve tried so many of the expensive brands and this is proof that the price tag does not indicate how good the product is.

Estée Lauder double wear foundation & concealer…

This seems to be on ever mommy bloggers list. I had heard great things about EL double wears coverage, I am a full coverage kinda girl, but I finally decided to invest when I began looking into what I should avoid to help my skin.. My god is it a long list but Estée Lauder seemed to contain none of the things on the list. It’s also water based foundation which I was recommended to use. I purchased this around the same time I got the tea tree and witch hazel skincare supplies and it has been a dream. Full coverage without nasty breakouts the following day. It is obviously more expensive than the drug store brands but it is totally worth it in my eyes. Although if you don’t have sensitive skin Rimmel Colourstay is a pretty good coverage foundation and long lasting like double wear.
(Oh random side note, if you are ever looking at trying a new foundation or brand I found this website that can help you choose the right tone for your skin. This is a real help when buying drugstore make up that doesn’t neccassarily have a consultant. Temptalia- Match my skin tone.)

Nice smelly candle…

This might seem like a random one but I honestly don’t go a day without lighting a smelly candle. It’s usually after a poop explosion when Aidan seems to stink the entire house out! I’m currently burning  candle I got in tesco I don’t know the brand but the smell is sea foam and grose, I don’t know what that should smell like but I think it smells like men’s aftershave, which is a weakness to most ladies. I am a huge Yankee Candle fan but haven’t gotten a chance to get to there store in a while. Please leave candle suggestions I love trying new smells.. Except cinnamon!

Support…

Whether it’s from a partner, a parent or a friend having someone you can turn to is essential, not just for moms but for everyone. Sometimes just a cuddle can completely change someone’s mood. And when things do get tough remember, “everyday is the first of the rest of your life”.

Leave your mommy must haves below, Id love to hear what helps you on your adventure…
Until next time,

  1. Ah yes, we get through a lot of cleaning wipes at the mo! As for candles, I’m loving the Yankee Pure Radiance in Guava at the mo, but they’ve changed the style of the jars for that range and I think it’s been discontinued 🙁 If you find it, I’d say get it!
