Happy Days #12

I’m baaack! I took a break from blogging over Christmas – I hadn’t planned to I just ended up completely absorbed by Christmas and spending time with family, which I really enjoyed. It’s done me the world of good and I’ve come back with so many posts floating around my head. I really missed doing my Happy Days link up and considering I only realised it was Saturday because of twitter some of the following information may be from the last couple of weeks – it all seems like one long week to me.

As always I am linking up with Jenna and Katy the lovely hosts of the Happy Days linky.

Out and About

We’ve been out and about a lot over Christmas from dinner parties to ‘social gatherings’ (we all know what that really means!). Unfortunately over the last few days we’ve been pretty homebound because A has developed a terrible cold and is teething all together – I miss sleep!

Fun at Home

Aidan is desperate to learn to crawl. He can almost get up onto his knees so it’s been a lot of fun watching that.

I took down all my Christmas decorations on New Year’s Eve – although I love Christmas I do enjoy getting the extra 20 square feet back now they’re all gone!

Blog Life

Well this week has been madness blog-wise. First I found I had made the Tots100 top 1000 which was a massive shock considering I haven’t really blogged this month. Then my blog reached 10,000 views on Christmas day – woo. But then I reverted to 0 page views when I made the big switch to WordPress self-hosted.

Time for Me

I literally have nothing to put into this section. Time for me seems as likely as winning the lottery these days. Poor Aidan is so sick he just wants attention all the time meaning any time I get alone I use to sleep because that too is about as likely as.. something else unlikely (my brain is too sleepy to put words to use).

Happiest Moment

Real Life: Seeing Aidan almost crawling – my baby is growing up so quickly!

Blog Life: Finally going self-hosted (minus the stressful bits)

Next Week I would like to…

Have some me time and some sleep. I would love for Aidan to get over his cold and pop a tooth, have a pamper evening and sleep until 10. I would also like to win the lottery.

  1. So sorry that Aidan has been unwell and teething, hope he is better soon and that you manage to get some sleep. Love the new blog design, well done for getting into the Tots1000, hitting 10,000 page views and going self-hosted – wow what a busy time it has been for you on the blog front! Love the photos and hope 2015 will be a good year for you 🙂

  2. Oh dear I’m so sorry that Aidan hasn’t been well. It’s bad enough when they have a cold but adding teething into the mix must be awful! I hope that pesky tooth comes through soon and hopefully you’ll finally get some sleep!

  3. Oh no, I hope poor Aidan gets over his cold soon, and that the pesky tooth breaks through, so that you can get some rest.

I totally know what you mean about getting space back once the Christmas decs are down! Congrats on making the top 1000, that’s great news 🙂 Jess xx

    1. He’s a lot better now thankfully. Yes they take up half the house but you don’t notice until they’re gone – I think they multiple when our backs are turned. Thank you xx

    1. Thank you 🙂 It’s terrible to watch them alright poor little things. Oh here’s hoping, even just a few million hehe 🙂 x

  4. It must the time of the year all children get sick. We have gone through a cold with Matthew too but it improved for Xmas day. He could pick these up every 4-5 weeks. Nightmare.
Congrats on making the top 100 tots. 🙂

  5. Congrats on switching over to WordPress, I think I would have to pay someone to do it for me! Sorry Aidan has been suffering with his teeth so badly and I hope you manage to get some decent sleep soon! How exciting that he’s nearly crawling, Oliver was so happy when he first moved across the room.
Fingers crossed for me time next week!

    1. It wasn’t as bad as I expected really, don’t think I’d do it again though. A’s getting so annoyed that he can’t move so I’d say he will be so happy when he finally cracks it xx

  6. Welcome back!!! Hope you had a lovely Christmas!
Sorry to hear Aiden is ill, teething and colds are just awful. We have had the same here so I can fully sympathise about the lack of sleep.
    Hope you win the lottery

    1. I did thank you. Hope you had a great one too!
It’s horrible to watch and know you can’t do anything about it.
Me too! If I do I’ll bring everyone on a big blogger holiday 🙂 x

  7. Lovely photos – sorry to hear Aidan’s been poorly though, I wish him a speedy recovery.

I think it’s nice to take a blogging break every now and again (planned or otherwise) as it helps you come up with ideas and be more focused.

Hope you get some me time next week. 🙂

Thanks for linking up with our #happydayslinky

  8. Hello. It sounds like you had a lovely and very busy Christmas. Sorry to hear that Aidan is poorly though. Teething and a cold are a horrible combination and equal no sleep. I always find that Little Miss H gets a cold whenever she is teething. I think it is because her immune system is low and so she gets ill easily. Lots of cuddles and naps sound like the order of the day. I hope he is feeling better soon. Hugs Mrs H xxxx PS I love the phot of Aidan trying to crawl. Not long now until you’ll be running after him (they are so quick once they get going). #happydayslinky

    1. Oh what a vicious circle it is! Part of me can’t wait for him to crawl and part of me is dreading it – he will be in everything! xxx

  9. Happy New Year!

Sorry to hear about Aidan’s cold and teething, it seems like they always come along at the same time. I hope that he is on the mend now and you are getting a little bit more sleep!

Congrats on making it into the top 1000 and hitting 10,000 views, what a lovely blog achievement for Christmas.

I hope you have a better time this week and get your pamper evening too xx
