Aidan, toys

Aidan’s free toys

After just posting my October favourites (two weeks late) I realised that there is one thing that Aidan plays with more than any other toys he owns. One thing that can keep him occupied for anywhere up to an hour. One thing that is my go to option when all else fails. And the one thing that cost me next to nothing. What is this miracle toy you ask?

This packet of Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps, which I imagine are now Tayto Cheese & Onion Powder. Between the crinkly wrapper and the colour red, Aidan just seems to find them so amusing. As you can see he clearly molests the bag until it becomes a mere ball of wet, crinkly fun. Although it might not look like it in this photo we regularly change the bag, he doesn’t have a favourite packet once its Tayto Cheese & Onion he doesn’t care where it comes from, which is great because most Irish houses stock Tayto meaning there readily available during an outing breakdown.

I remember reading a post from BrummyMummyof2 about how kids get the most fun from the random free things they play with as oppose to the array of expensive toys they own and now I see exactly what she was talking about!

And as I write this Aidan has found another ‘priceless’ toy to play with. He’s been flicking my jacket zipper for 20 minutes.

See the Tayto on the floor too?

That’s Christmas sorted a 20 pack of Tayto and a zipper. Has your little one got any favourite freebies like this?

Until next time,
El x

  1. Awwww. So true about random things that kids love to play with. My son loves this piece of plastic wrapper. The wrapper traveled from UK to the Philippines and back here in the UK because my son just cant get enough of it! #MagicMoments

  2. It is wonderful what random things that kids play with isn’t it?! My stepdaughter recently made a “cottage” out of a large box we had in the house. It’s not much but she adores it and brings it out whenever we have visitors!
